Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers

If you are planning to become a teacher, especially a physics teacher, and need a scholarship to help you pay for your eduction then you need to know about the Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers.

There will be three scholarships awarded in the amount of $2000 each. In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must be enrolled in an accredited two-year college, four-year college or a university or a high school senior accepted for such enrollment. You must be either currently pursuing or planning to pursue a course of study leading toward a career in physics teaching in the high schools. Plus you must show promise of success in their studies, and be a citizen of the USA.

Scholarships for Teaching Students

Interested in a career in teaching? If so, then Governors State University may have a scholarship for you.

GSU is offering Scholarships for Teaching Students in the amount of $500 to $3000. This scholarship is supported by the United States Department of Education and can be applied for throughout your time at GSU in the teaching program.

In order to receive the scholarship students must agree to teach in a high-need school a time equal to the length of the scholarship. So, if you get the scholarship for two years, then you must teach in the high-need school for two years. If not, then you have to pay back all monies.

In order to qualify for GSU’s Scholarships for Teaching Students you have to be admitted to a GSU Secondary Education Program and have maintained a GPA of at least 3.0 for all of the degree-specific coursework, which includes core courses and general education. You must also obtain two letters of recommendation from either teachers, deans, or counselors that will demonstrate your ability to teach in a high-needs school. Plus you must also include a 300-word essay explaining your interest in a high-needs school.

In order to be able to receive one of these Scholarships for Teaching Students from GSU, your application must be received by December 1, 2009, for the Winter term, and by April 1, 2010, for the Spring/Summer term(s).
