Scholarship Applications Available

If you are a student in Iowa or Illinois, either a graduating senior or an already enrolled college student, you can apply for the Charles Curry SMART Bus scholarship available now.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must be a 2010 graduate of a high school in Iowa or Illinois who are living in Henry, Mercer or Rock Island counties in Illinois or Scott or Muscatine counties in Iowa. However, you may also be a freshman, sophomore or junior at an Illinois or Iowa college who graduated from a high school in one of the above five counties.

You must also plan on majoring in or currently majoring in a Natural Resource curriculum or an Education curriculum and enroll on a full-time basis. And if you are a high school student, you need to be in the upper third of your class. If you area college student, then you must have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Each scholarship awarded will be worth $1500 and is renewable.

Scholarship Program in Pennsylvania

The House of Representatives giving out a scholarship? Well, not exactly I suppose. The program is independently administered by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) and is not affiliated with any political party. But name sounds good.

This scholarship program is open to all college-bound high school seniors who are planning to attend a Pennsylvania university, career school, or college. Two scholarships will be awarded per year and can be renewed up to four years. The value is approximately $2500 per year.
