Apply for Scholarships

Now is the time to Apply for Scholarships. National scholarship Month is going on right now. Previously, it had been celebrated in May but has since been moved to the month of November, as the springtime is usually too late for many scholarship deadlines.

Many of the corporations, schools, and non-profit groups are rolling out the scholarships for the 2010/2011 school year as we speak, so now is the time to find and Apply for Scholarships. And if you start searching now, you should have plenty time to compile a nice-sized list of scholarship possibilities plus you will have enough time to get your scholarship applications in on time.

The current recession is affecting many Americans, so it is becoming more important than ever for students to find and Apply for Scholarships. Scholarships, like grants, do not have to be paid back, so it is like free money to go to school, but if you do not find and Apply for Scholarships yourself, you will miss out on the chance at some of this free money for school.

When searching for scholarships, you need to make a list of all the qualities that you possess, which will give you an advantage for certain scholarships. For example, if you do a lot of community service, then you will want to Apply for Scholarships that are based on volunteering in your community such as the scholarships from the V.A. Or maybe you are a very good at writing and need to find essay scholarships that you may be able to win. Everyone has qualities that they possess, so start thinking what makes you unique. You can also ask your family members, as they may give you some ideas that you have not thought about.

Remember, when you Apply for Scholarships and you are asked what qualities to you possess, even if the “quality” seems not like a good one, you can turn it around and shed a different light on it. For example, let’s say you grew up in a poor family and you did not have much growing up. You could use this as an “quality” by stating that because of your low-income background, you learned how to appreciate everything that has ever been given to you. All it takes is a little thought, and you could walk away with some money that will lessen the financial burden of college.

You should also be sure to enter the Scholarships for Dads scholarship contests. It only takes a few minutes and could be worth $10,000 if you are the next winner.

I have found another random scholarship that anyone over the age of 13 (and who does not work for the awarding scholarship company), including dads, can enter.

This scholarship just announced is the Tell Your Story College Admissions Essay Contest. This is an easy scholarship contest to enter, as all you have do is submit an admission essay that you already have or are getting ready to send with your college admission packet. There is really no extra work involved, except the few minutes to enter, as you have already written the essay anyway. And now you have a chance to win $1000 for that work.

Only enter once and submit your best essay, as only the first submission will be counted and entered in the scholarship contest. But hurry, as the contest runs from November 3, 2009, and December 1, 2009. To enter online, visit this site. to complete and submit the official online entry form by December 1, 2009, at 11:59:59 PM EST.

If you are planning on attending college in either the spring or next fall, you should enter the Scholarships for Dads contest that is awarded in the amount of $10,000. Registering is free. Once you register all you do is view a couple of pages with information about different schools. You can opt to receive more information or decline. And once you come to the “thank-you page” you are finished. You can increase your chances by entering once a week. And, since it is free to register you have nothing to lose. You never know, you could be the next winner…but only if you register.

More people are looking for help when paying for school, and getting a scholarship is a great way to help fund your education. Unlike scholarships based on merit, the Scholarships4Dads scholarship contest is based on luck. But if you are lucky, then the $10,000 could really go a long way in helping avoid student loan debt.
