Scholarship for Newspaper Careers
Many say that working in the newspaper industry is a dying career. But I for one love to read my morning paper and that will never change. Maybe what is needed is new and creative ways of thinking.
Residents of communities being served by Springfield News-Sun who have already completed their freshman year of studies in the disciplines of advertising, journalism, accounting, marketing, art, or computer services (plus many other disciplines) with a desire to work in the newspaper industry, can apply for a $2500 scholarship. This Ohio Scholarship is not open to high school students, making it a perfect Scholarship for Dads
To be eligible for this Ohio Scholarship, you must be a sophomore attending an accredited college, have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA for your previous year of studies, be able to demonstrate an interest in a newspaper career, and be a resident of a community served by Springfield News-Sun.
Completed applications for the James M. Cox, Jr Newspaper Scholarship must be submitted by June 15, 2010. To get an application, go here.
