Scholarships Available from Energy Solutions

Energy Solutions has Scholarships Available and is now accepting applications for the 2010/2011 school year. These scholarships will be awarded to students within the states that Energy Solutions is located. This includes Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah and Washington.

In order to be eligible for these scholarships available a student must be:

• In the 10th Grade
• Have a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and keep this GPA until graduation
• Plan to pursue a masters degree in math, science, or engineering.

It is also required that the student have two letters of recommendation to be filled out by a counselor, teacher, advisor or an instructor who knows the student well.

The amount being awarded is a $2000 scholarship, which will be held until the student graduates and then will be paid directly to the accredited school in which the student is attending. Out of all winning applicants, the top 10% of those will be entered into a national distinguished award contest with winning award amounts of $2500, $5000, and $25,000.

The Robert C. Byrds Honors Scholarship will be accepting applications December 1, 2009, through February 1, 2010. In order to be eligible for this scholarship you must be a legal resident of Kentucky and a US citizen, be between the ages of 18 and 25 and have applied or been accepted to a higher education institution within the US. And you must be a graduate of a secondary education school in Kentucky or have received your GED. You must also be recommended by a school administrator or GED
