High School students who will graduate before September 1, 2010 (and current college students), who are active in golf, and live in the boundaries of Southern Texas PGA can apply for the 2010 scholarships available.

Scholarships will not be based on your golfing ability and you do not need to be a junior golfer. You do, however, have to be graduating by September of 2010, enrolled or planning on enrolling as a full-time student at a 2 or 4-year accredited college, and live within the Southern Texas PGA boundaries.

Scholarship awards will be based on GPA (at least a 2.5), class ranking, ACT/SAT scores, extracurricular activities and financial need.

But, there are also scholarships available to current college students. Scholarship award amounts range from $1000 to $10,000.

To be eligible for these Texas scholarships available, application must be returned to the STPGA Foundation Office by April 5, 2010. To find out more information, go here.

Scholarships for Squash Players

If squash is your game then you may want to start thinking about attending the George Washington University. GWU is offering scholarships for squash players to add to their squash team. The 188-year-old university is the first school in the country to offer scholarships for squash, a game similar to racquetball.

GWU is a NCAA Division 1 varsity squash program and is therefore eligible to award athletic scholarship.
