Women are not the only ones who have careers in cosmetology. Due to our fascination with celebrities and reality television, we have found that may of the top stylists are men. And of course everyone wants to look their best, so those who are good at their trade will always do well in this field. And it is not all about cutting hair. There are many departments in the cosmetology where as you can enter the nail, facial, cosmetic, or hair niches. It is up to you and what you enjoy doing.

Beauty School Scholarships for Dads are available but sometimes you have to do some searching to find them. Usually these scholarships are based on merit in that they will look at your high school or college grades, so keeping your grades up is important. Listed here are the national type scholarships, but it always wise to ask your individual school about any Beauty School Scholarships they have available too.

1. Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship: Applicants are evaluated for their potential to successfully complete school, their financial need, and their commitment to a long-term career in cosmetology. This scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1000 and deadline is June 1st of the given year.
2. Alice Madden Barton Cosmetology School Scholarship Program:This is a Great Clips scholarship give out twice a year and deadlines are June 30th and December 31st of the given year.
3. OPI Scholarship: The Schaeffer Family Foundation selects one deserving Nail Technology/Manicuring program student monthly for a $500.00 scholarship at preferred OPI schools, and offers scholarships to Cosmetology students as well!
4. Sally Beauty Scholarship:The National Cosmetology Association (NCA) will award 10 scholarship with 5 of those going to high school graduates under the age of 26, 3 to current members for continued education, and 2 to children of NCA members to be used for a college education.

But, don’t forget, you can also receive Beauty School Scholarships for Dads from the government too in the form of grants. These grants range in award amount but can be upwards of $9000. Plus, some states, such as Florida, has just increased the Beauty School Scholarship Pell grants this year. Eight Tampa Bay area cosmetology and massage schools have received more than $2.3 million in federal economic stimulus grants.

As long as the school you attend is accredited, you can use government money to pay for your education (as long as you apply and qualify). And, since working in the area of cosmetology will usually offer a more flexible schedule, you may find that it fits you parental lifestyle perfectly.
